@ digitalboy: I hate scans as well, but unfortunately they're a necessity more often than not. Luckily the licensed releases are about 4 or 5 volumes in. @ rangerroh: Looks like the first volume came out here in 2006, and they've been showing up slowly but surely ever since. The fact that it's so obscure is the main reason why I wrote this post :P @ jayce: Ah, that explains it. I noticed that there was a doujin listed on MAL but I wasn't sure what it was and for some reason I didn't think to click on it. Thanks for the info! @ Kona: I was immediately drawn to the art as well; like you said, it's simple yet effective. I hope you enjoy it!

Ooh, I might try this after reading this review. I heard of it about 2 years back (or so) but never really took the next step in purchasing the manga because I didn’t know how good it was. Plus, the only version I could buy was the expensive English translated one. The art was also what made me interested in the manga; simple yet it portrays the story well (I read the synopsis. ^^).
Atmosphere…can’t wait to feel what this manga has to offer when I read it. ^_^

Blood Alone began as a doujin, as a self published work, before being serialized. It’s mostly some Kuroe and Misaki moments and some of them were included in the manga with a few changes. Most of his doujin works deals with theme of the relationship of caretakers and the girls that they look after.

hmmm…. the openning paragraph got me hooked. I have never heard or seen this manga before. Is it a new release? I just might go pick up a few volumes and see how it goes. Thanks for bring light to a new manga which I might of passed on if I didnt read your post. ^^

I got interested when people were comparing it to Gunslinger Girl, and the comparison is not unwarranted. I loved the first 2 chapters, but I hate scanslations, so I am plannign to buy the manga.
